Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
