The Prince of Wales Set to Attend COP30 Climate Summit in South America

Prince William is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America during November, as announced by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a reception preceding the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belem.

The King and Prince were participating in the museum gathering, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the United Kingdom administration.

Environmental Advocacy Dedication

The King has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has assumed the responsibility, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be taking place in South America ahead of the UN meeting.

Royal sources have described the Prince's participation at the next COP as taking on an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were greeted participants featuring conservation experts, researchers, environmental activists, foreign representatives and government officials.

This participation included speaking together with French leader Macron of France and other world leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.

The climate conference will coincide with the prince's own Earthshot environmental awards, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he attends the climate conference on 6 November.
