Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Dominance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and earned a historic £11m in earnings.
She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
