Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 American roles under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are anticipated, with the company aiming to disclose all specifics during its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Prior news suggested the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.

By December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 contract workers.

The organization did not immediately respond regarding the report.
