Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return for the upcoming Hunger Games instalment, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
An Important Reunion for Fans
The actors will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their roles will take the form of a flash-forward sequence, given that the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This represents the sixth cinematic outing in the global Hunger Games franchise.
Exploring the New Story
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who was behind nearly all the previous films in the series.

The film's story are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.
