Chalobah Poised to Take Over from Guehi in England Selection

The Chelsea star emulated his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the 21st duo of brothers to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is likely to link up with the Three Lions selection to cover for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is set to link up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been officially announced.

The Three Lions have already secured qualification for next summer's tournament.

Chalobah earned his maiden invitation under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be omitted from the selection for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the next October matches.

Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's progress, having handed him his Chelsea debut in 2021.

Chalobah has played in almost every fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club in third place in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.

There are expected to be further additions to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) are set to pull out from the national team.
