British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
