Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
